About the players:

Crayola Lectern is Chris Anderson - for more see the Biography page.

Random Jon Poole
also played in Cardiacs and plays in The Wildhearts. He once recorded an incredible album of Frank Zappa covers called What's The Ugliest Part Of Your Body. He has released two albums by his own band The God Damn Whores and has released a solo album, Random Jon Poole through a very successful Pledge Music campaign.

Alistair Strachan also plays in The Sons Of Noel And Adrian, Mary Hampton Cotillion, Oddfellows Casino, ViV and is a well known and frequent collaborator on the improv scene, playing with a huge variety of people.

Bob Leith played in Cardiacs for many years and Blurt

Bic Hayes played in Cardiacs, Levitation, Dark Star and Pet Shop Boys

Live:

Crayola Lectern live is usually a duo of Crayola Lectern and Alistair Strachan although the other original live member, Jon Poole sometimes plays too.

A larger band come together to play the album's centrepiece, Trip In 'D' which can be stretched out to 40 minutes - this band includes Bic Hayes, Alistair Strachan, Andrew Jarvis, E-Da (Boredoms), Rich Gorbutt (modular synthesizer) and Jon Poole (where possible). Trip In 'D' however can be (just about) played as a duo. On the record it is played by Lectern, Poole, Jarvis and Strachan.

The Fall And Rise Of...

The album charts a period in an 'Everyman' life, fraught with worries and failings but one whose hidden riches are always stirring, never far from being set free. Not escapism, rather an ongoing vision which seeks to transcend the mundane, to attain a temporary respite from the ardours of life by engaging with the things that matter in a beautiful and intriguing world of auditory delights.
